5 Days, 5 Detox Recipes — Day #1

 

Happy Monday!

 

Today's post is for those of us who might still be recovering from spring break.

Or for those of us who went a little crazy at Easter brunch (waffle station! potatoes gratin! chocolate fountain!).

Or have been engaging in covert Easter basket pilfering.

I wish I could say I abstained from all that, but — let's just say my body really needed this morning's smoothie and workout.

5 Days, 5 Recipes

In celebration of my upcoming I Love Food Spring Detox program, I'll be sharing some free detox recipes here on my website this week.

The first featured recipe is one of my favorites: the Blackberry Mint Smoothie. It's one of the signature smoothies in my detox programs, and it's especially helpful for people who are new to smoothies.

The Blackberry Mint Smoothie, like most of my other recipes, is carefully designed to offer a magical combination of fiber, protein and healthy fat in one easy-to-prepare meal. This combination floods the body with powerful antioxidants and healthy fats for healing, while the fiber helps move toxins out of the body.

This recipe also supports one of my other key practices of eating vegetables at every meal — even though it's not technically a “green” smoothie, it includes a sneaky serving of cucumber for extra antioxidants and hydration.
